The Connection Research Team

William Ehmcke
CEO

William Ehmcke is the CEO of Connection Research. Ehmcke is best known for founding IT market research company Meta Group in Asia Pacific. Meta Group was acquired by leading IT analysis group Gartner in 2004.

William joined Connection Research in February 2009 and together with founder and Research Director Graeme Philipson is taking the company into new areas as yet untouched by traditional market research in Australia, such as Green IT and research and analysis, and the carbon and compliance space.

"There's a gap in the market in the areas we are covering, and I believe we can make a mark," says Ehmcke. "Also, there's a lot of scope for research and analysis in these areas. There is also scope for research and analysis in the emerging carbon compliance area. We aim to be there".

Walter Monitor
Mascot

Walter Monitor is our company mascot. He is very wise, and a source of great knowledge about all things sustainable and environmental.

Walter monitors the green landscape, and misses nothing. He is our inspiration and our mentor. He is of the species varanus salvator (water monitor) – found throughout South-East Asia and the Indian subcontinent, and at Connection Research.

Varanus salvator is a large species of monitor lizard capable of growing over 3 metres in length. Maximum weight can be over 75 kg, but most are half that size. Their body is muscular with a long powerful laterally compressed tail. Water monitors are one of the most common monitor lizards found in Asia. (Source: Wikipedia).

If you are in the green space, Walter is watching you. He knows. He sees. He monitors.
